The Penn State Nittany Lions are hosting the Maryland Terrapins in college basketball action on Tuesday. The game is scheduled for a 6:00 p.m. start time and it will be televised live on the Big Ten Network. Maryland still sits toward the top of the Big Ten standings, they trail just Maryland in the win/loss column for the top overall spot. This will be an opportunity for Maryland to pick itself up off the floor a little bit as well, coming off a one-point loss at home to Purdue during the weekend.

The Terps have been very solid on the road this season, winning each of their true contests away from home. Penn State wouldn’t be anywhere near their best win on the road this season, but it will be another solid victory on the road.

The Nittany Lions are a program that might be better than their overall record. Each of their last two losses came in games where Penn State had a chance to win, including the triple overtime matchup at Indiana where they nearly picked up a victory.

Penn State has a couple of strong wins t home, including Minnesota, Illinois and Georgia Tech. Maryland is certainly better than each of those teams but they are taking on a Penn State team that has dropped five of the last six games overall.

Maryland’s a short favorite here despite leading the conference and Penn State being toward the bottom. The Nittany Lions could battle tough here but Maryland will have the best player on the floor in Melo Trimble, he’ll have the basketball in his hands the majority of the game for the Terps and that will play a difference in this one.
