The Alabama Crimson Tide are taking on the Kentucky Wildcats in college basketball action on Saturday. The game is scheduled for a 1:00 p.m. start time and it will be televised nationally on CBS. The college basketball odds for the game have the Wildcats favored by single digits to pick up the win.
College Basketball Odds
Kentucky -8
Total: 148.5 points
Kentucky just gave up 85 points to LSU the other day. And even though they picked up the win, it can’t be good news for the Wildcats in having to deal with coach John Calipari following the contest.
Alabama is a team that could play well enough to win a game like this, but it’s tough to see Kentucky looking past the Crimson Tide in this spot. Alabama recently beat South Carolina, the SEC’s other solid team, plus they have the ability to score some points.
The Crimson Tide are looking to bolster their resume a bit, too. They sit behind Florida, South Carolina and Kentucky in the SEC standings despite a pretty poor non-conference schedule and win/loss record. A win here would certainly be beneficial for Avery Johnson’s team, but they’re going to have to piece together something the remainder of the season as well.
But given Kentucky not playing well the past five games, they could struggle a bit here. It’s going to take a real strong effort from Alabama to get it done, but Kentucky will pull away in the second half.
