The AFC South Division lost a considerable chunk of its identity when Peyton Manning sat out the 2011 season with a neck injury. Indianapolis’ Manning-less slide did open the door for the Houston Texans, who captured the AFC South crown in ’11, then repeated the feat last year. Vegas Odds clearly has 2013 as a two team race between Indianapolis & Houston.

Houston Texans (-220): A spectacular 11-1 start had Houston Texan fans talking Super Bowl, but the Texans wilted down the stretch with losses in four of their last six games. Houston'slate-season swan contained two lopsided defeats to the Patriots, including a season-ending 41-28 loss in the Divisional Playoffs. The Colts made the playoffs but were aided by a weak schedule and are still young. And the Jags and Titans have question marks at quarterback. Most experts will probably stick with the Texans to capture the AFC South once again.

Indianapolis Colts (+240): Not a bad first season in Indianapolis without Peyton Manning playing the lead at Lucas Oil Stadium. The Indianapolis Colts charged to an 11-5 record despite a Hall of Fame quarterback exiting stage left. Now Andrew Luck has a year under his belt and Chuck Paganois back on the sidelines so expectations are high. The Colts will look, in other words, like a title contender. Whether perception meets reality will depend on how smoothly they make the transition from ultimate underdog to everyday frontrunner.

Tennessee Titans (+1000): The Titans started out last season 1-4 to finish up 6-10 overall with no wins over teams that made the playoffs. This will be a critical third year for head coach Mike Munchak as this team needs a rebound season. There were open questions within the team as a whole, and that is not the position that a team wants to find themselves entering a new season. The Titans hope that youth pays dividends and not drawbacks, because they will have to rely upon their young players extensively in 2013.

Jacksonville Jaguars (+3000): The Jacksonville Jaguars have a new General Manager, head coach, offensive coordinator, and uniforms but will it be enough to get them back on a winning path?  New Head Coach Gus Bradley will find out very soon just how bad this football team is.   This is a team that won just two games in 2012 and didn’t do much to make them better in the off season. It’s still a ways away from week 1 and while much is unclear, change is occurring in Jacksonville. With so many new aspects for this team, the hope is for a turnaround, no matter how small.
