2013 SEC Conference Football Odds

There's no doubt that the SEC is the best conference in college football. Multiple teams this season believe they have a shot at winning the BCS National Championship game from the SEC but which ones will be there at the end? The 2013 SEC Championship Odds currently have Alabama favored to win.

The game will be played Saturday, Dec. 7 at the Georgia Dome in Atlanta.

Alabama is probably still the best overall team in the country. If not for a couple of losses along the way, we might be talking about the Crimson Tide winning four straight national championships and potentially looking for a fifth. Alabama will attempt to win their third straight this upcoming season and oddsmakers believe they can do it. The Crimson Tide are atop nearly every odds table to win the national championship. It should come as no surprise then that they are the overwhelming favorite to win the SEC title game again this season. They're listed at 10-11 (-110 odds) to win from the Las Vegas Superbook and +145 at Betonline.

The Georgia Bulldogs are second on the list at 4-1. They played Alabama last season in the SEC title game and nearly knocked off the Crimson Tide, falling short in the closing seconds, 32-28. This year Mark Richt brings back Heisman hopeful Aaron Murray to lead his offense, but the Bulldog defense certainly needs a lot of work. Texas A&M returns Johnny Football to the roster this season. He won the Heisman last season and is looking for a repeat of that this year. But in order to do that, he'll certainly have to leave all of the off-the-field problems, well, off the field. He's gotta grow up and get used to the media circus. Kevin Sumlin seems like he is going to take that next step to helping him mature as well. Texas A&M is going to be very good.

Potential sleepers include South Carolina and LSU, both paying pretty decent numbers. Arkansas is 90-1 to win the SEC title game and will break in newcomer Bret Bielema to the mix. He comes down from Wisconsin, where he guided the Badgers to three straight Big Ten crowns. It seems odd (no pun intended) that the oddsmakers would have them that high on the list at 90-1.

Ole Miss surprised some people last year and were a decent club. They'll have to improve on that season and look to continue being more physical. That recruiting class certainly will help. Teams that will probably get lost in the shuffle include Missouri, Vandy, Auburn, Tennessee and Mississippi State. It's obviously not easy playing in the SEC and these schools understand that. So does Kentucky, who comes in at 150-1 to win the SEC title game. In other words, they're not even getting there.

2013 SEC Conference Odds

Alabama +145
Georgia +400
South Carolina +500
Florida +950
LSU +1000
Ole Miss +2000
Vanderbilt +4000
Missouri +4500
Tennessee +6000
Mississippi State +9000
Arkansas +9000
Auburn +9000
Kentucky +15000
