As Friday came to a close and the world began to get ready for the 139th Kentucky Derby, a new pair of favorites emerged. The 2013 Kentucky Derby Odds now has Goldencents and Revolutionary as the co-favorites to win the race on Saturday evening. In a bit of a surprising move the two horses raced up the line charts when the advanced wagering for the race ended on Friday. Both horses have odds currently at 5-1 for "The Fastest Two Minutes in Sports."
Orb had been the favorite by far to win the race as the opening odds were released with the post positions on Wednesday afternoon. The horse still is drawing 6-1 odds to win the Derby while Normandy Invasion at 8-1 is the only other horse that has single digit odds to win the race. Verrazano has fallen a long way, down to 11-1 despite never losing a race. Itsmyluckyday, the winner of the Florida Derby, closed at 11-1 as well.
Odds updated at 6:00 p.m. Saturday.
