The 2011 NBA Draft is tonight and will be hosted at the Prudential Center in Newark, New Jersey with a start time of 7pm on ESPN/ESPN3. Most NBA mock drafts are pretty consistent on the top pick but once you get into number two and beyond the selections from basketball experts are all over the board. The general consensus for the top pick by the Cleveland Cavaliers is Duke G Kyrie Irving. Kyrie was a stud for Duke, shooting 58.7% from two-point land
and sick 45.2% on triples. Many basketball insiders consider
Irving one of the best guards to enter the NBA draft in close to ten
years. When he was on the court for Duke they won by an
average of 23 points and as a team put up close to 90 points per contest. Irvings court presence and overall style should fit perfect into the NBA game and make him a star in Cleveland.
For the number two selection in the NBA Draft tonight we asked Pregame Pro Mike Hook his opinion. According to Hook the 2011 NBA Draft is packed with rumors and uncertainty swirling through the air. This particular draft is full of questions, starting with the overall #2 pick. This Draft class is volatile, which makes for must see television. After G Kyrie Irving from Duke, the number two pick is likely to come from either F Derrick Williams or C Enes Kanter. Kanter is one of seven international players projected to be drafted in the 1st round. The final destinations of All American guards Kemba Walker and Jimmer Fredette are two of the biggest question marks in this entire draft. Lastly, trade rumors are running rampant in the final hours leading up the draft. Veteran name players like Tony Parker, Andre Iguodala, and Andrew Bynum are three players being shopped by their current team to move up into the Lottery of the Draft.
