West Virginia has won three straight games over teams from Texas, including a close 61-60 victory over TCU on the road Saturday. The Mountaineers forced 21 turnovers in the win over the Horned Frogs but didn’t shoot the ball well and got out-scored 24-9 from the 3-point line.
Baylor was once the top-ranked team in the country, but they have really struggled to get things figured out the past few weeks. The Bears lost at Iowa State on Saturday, which was the third in the last four games for Baylor.
Both of these teams are efficient ones, they both rank inside the Top 30 nationally in both offensive and defensive efficiency numbers. Each team is in the Top 10 for defensive numbers, Baylor gives up just 62.4 points per game, West Virginia surrenders 66.4 points per game. This looks on paper to be a battle between defensive clubs, something different than the first meeting where West Virginia won 89-66 in Morgantown.
The Mountaineers have won three in a row and look solid, Baylor is struggling the past few weeks. That’s a good indication on why the line is a pick’em in this one. West Virginia scored 50 points in the second half of that first game, but it won’t be easy to replicate that again here.
