The Seattle Seahawks are hosting the Carolina Panthers on Sunday Night Football. The game is scheduled for an 8:30 p.m. start time and it will be televised nationally on NBC. The NFL Odds for the game have the Seahawks favored by a comfortable margin to pick up the win.
NFL Odds
Seattle -7.5
Total: 44 points
Carolina has been terrible this season, falling to 4-7 on the year while winning just once in five road games. The defending NFC champs just don’t look the same on either side of the football this season and it’s unlikely they get it figured out here to beat Seattle.
The Seahawks have won all five games at home this year, but they are coming off a horrendous road defeat at Tampa Bay where the offense only produced a single field goal in the game. Russell Wilson was awful and the entire offense found no way to get anything done, averaging just four yards per play while turning it over three times. The defense gave up two early touchdowns but settled in and played well enough to win the remaining three quarters.
Carolina beat Seattle twice last year, so the Seahawks do have some revenge here. Luke Kuechly is still battling some concussion issues and he won’t be playing in this one, which puts the Panthers at a disadvantage.
Cam Newton and the Panthers scored 32 points at Oakland last week but lost. They won’t be getting close to that number again this week and without a consistent running game or hitting for big plays, they just won’t match up against Seattle here.
