The USC Trojans are on the road, taking on the UCLA Bruins in college football action tonight. The game is scheduled for a 10:30 p.m. start time and it will be televised nationally on ESPN. The college football odds for the game have the Trojans favored by a couple of scores to pick up the win here.

This game was circled by many to be a potential clash of teams looking to finish atop the Pac 12 South standings, but UCLA is an absolute mess and USC lost games in back-to-back weeks on the road to Stanford and Utah. Things have obviously changed.

UCLA is banged up all over the field and not having Josh Rosen at quarterback really puts them in a bad spot. The Bruins have lost four of five in conference play, the win finally came last week over Oregon State. In order to be bowl eligible the Bruins have to beat both USC and Cal in its remaining games, which clearly is unlikely given the current state of the football program.

USC is one of the hottest teams in America, they’ve won six in a row after starting with an 0-3 record. Had they beaten Utah in their final loss of the season there’s the potential USC could be up toward the college football playoff rankings but Clay Helton’s team is doing what it can with what it has and only two weeks remain on the schedule. A couple of wins over UCLA and Notre Dame might not look that glamorous on the final resume now, but finishing 9-3 and hoping for a Colorado loss would put the Trojans in the Pac 12 title game.

UCLA can fight for pride here, they can circle the wagons and come out strong, but USC is just clearly better at this point in the season. The win at Washington last week looks very strong for them and Sam Darnold played outstanding football.
