On paper New England should have no problems beating up on the 49ers here, especially coming off a loss on Sunday night to Seattle. Tom Brady and the gang won’t be happy having to go across the country to play a 49ers team that isn’t any good. Nothing good can really come out of this game for the Patriots except a win.
If they crush the 49ers they were supposed to do so, if they play in a tight game or lose it makes them look bad and hopefully they don’t suffer any injuries because that would make it all worse.
The Chip Kelly experience in San Francisco doesn’t seem to be working, just like it failed in Philadelphia. The 49ers have had some distractions with Colin Kaepernick, but that’s not the reason they are 1-8 on the season. The first game of the year they looked solid against the Rams but since then have dropped eight straight and looked very poor at times on the field.
Last week they pushed a disinterested Arizona team to the end of regulation, losing 23-20. Kaepernick will never be back to the player he was a few years ago when he was leading San Francisco to the Super Bowl, but he did play a solid game last week with 265 all purpose yards and a pair of touchdowns against a solid defense.
