What a crazy total for a game involving USC and Oregon, but these aren’t the same teams we have seen over the past few seasons. Oregon can’t seem to stop anybody on defense, allowing opponents to score 42.3 points per game, which ranks 125th nationally. Yes, 42.3 points per game to opponents. USC is giving up nearly half of that (24 ppg) to opponents so they certainly have an edge on the defensive side of the football in this game. Oregon, though, comes in still having a pretty prolific offense that can put up a ton of points on the opposition and will look to in this game.

USC played last week at home against California on a Thursday night game, it was the Trojans’ fourth win in a row in?Pac 12 play. Oregon actually won a game over a decent opponent last week, beating Arizona State by three touchdowns as the Ducks were able to stop the bleeding and end a five-game losing steak. Oregon scored points in every quarter in that win and piled up 734 yards of total offense, including freshman Justin?Herbert throwing for 489 yards and four touchdowns with no picks.

For the season he has a 12-2 ratio for touchdowns and interceptions and is going to be the next great Oregon quarterback if he can avoid injuries.

The Ducks will have to run the football in this one and find a way to get a handful of stops during the contest. Even in giving up 35 last week to Arizona State, Oregon was able to intercept three passes and made enough plays on that side of the football to make a difference.

The road has not been nice to Oregon this year, where the Ducks are 0-3. It’s not going to be an easy game to win here, but with the maturity and growth of Herbert, they should be able to score points and keep this one relatively close.
