Washington currently leads the National League East by 8.5 games over the Miami Marlins, a comfortable lead that should have them making the playoffs in 2016. Baltimore has been toward the top of the American League East much of the season as well, but they find themselves 2.5 games back of the division-leading Toronto Blue Jays and a full two games behind the Boston Red Sox.

This is a huge series for both clubs, but especially for the Orioles, who are currently holding down one of the two AL Wild Card spots with the Red Sox. Seattle, Detroit, Kansas City, Houston and New York are all within potential striking distance of the Wild Card spot as well as each team finds itself four games back or better.

Bundy has started seven games this season and done some serviceable work for the Orioles. His ERA is just 3.05 at Camden Yards covering 41 1/3 innings. No current National has faced him.
