The Chicago Cubs are on the road in Major League Baseball action tonight, taking on the Cincinnati Reds. The game is scheduled for a 7:10 p.m. start time and the current MLB Odds for the game have the Cubs as a big favorite to get the win.

Chicago has struggled a bit recently, finally coming a bit back to earth after a scorching start to the season. The Cubs have won just four times the last 10 games out, but picked up a bit win last night over the Reds as Kris Bryant blasted three home runs to pace the offense. 

Tonight the Cubs will look to keep it rolling against John Lamb, he’s 1-4 with a 4.78 ERA this season in 10 starts. The lefty has yet to make a start against the Cubs this season, he also hasn’t won a start since June 1 at Colorado. 

Lamb has been reasonably solid, though, yielding just 10 earned runs over his last five starts and seven of those came in a pair of losses to San Diego and Oakland. 

The Cubs will send Jon Lester to the mound, he’s 9-3 this season with a 2.10 ERA over 15 starts. Lester has picked up victories in five of his last six starts, his last start was a no decision against the Miami Marlins, he struck out seven in that game over seven innings and gave up two home runs as well.

Lester has allowed the Reds to hit .260 against him over 104 at bats, which isn’t a large sample size but both Brandon Phillips (6-of-18) and Billy Hamilton (5-of-7) have had some success.

Cincinnati has been much better in home games this season compared to the road, but it’s tough to go against Lester and the Cubs in this one.
