MLB Odds
Milwaukee -110, New York +102
Total: 9 runs
The New York Mets look to pick up a second straight win tonight after dropping three straight. New York finds itself 3.5 games behind the Washington Nationals in the National League East, but they do still own the fourth-best record in the NL.
Tonight the Mets send Bartolo Colon (4-3, 3.27 ERA), the ageless wonder is still bringing it at a high level. Colon has won three starts on the road this season, sporting an ERA of 3.72 over more than 36 innings of work. Current Brewers are hitting .260 against him over 50 at bats, a small sample size. Both Ryan Braun and Scooter Gennett have homered over a combined 12 at bats.
Milwaukee has not been good this season. It doesn't help they play in the National League Central, where the Cubs have a massive lead. Currently the Brewers find themselves 13.5 games out of first place with no chance in sight.
Starting for the Brew Crew is Jimmy Nelson, who has gone 5-4 with a 3.43 ERA this season over the span of 12 starts. Home starts have been good for Nelson, who is 4-2 over seven starts with a 2.54 ERA in almost 50 innings.
The Mets are hitting a collective .154 against him over 52 at bats, only Neil Walker (5-of-12) has more than two base hits against him in that short span.
Milwaukee hasn't been great, but Nelson has been strong at home.
