MLB Odds Chicago Cubs vs Los Angeles Dodgers

The Chicago Cubs are hosting the Los Angeles Dodgers tonight in Major League Baseball action. The game is scheduled for an 8:00 p.m. start time and it will be televised nationally on ESPN. Currently the MLB Odds for the game have the Cubs favored to pick up the victory.

MLB Odds
Cubs -195, Dodgers +181
Total: 8.5 runs

The Los Angeles Dodgers finally caused Jake Arrieta to lose a game as the Cubs fell at home last night. Tonight the Cubs look to get back in the win column as they are heavily favored against the Dodgers.

Chicago is 20 games above the .500 mark and the run differential has seen the Cubs crush everyone this year, out-scoring opponents by 128 runs so far. The Cubs are not surprisingly one of the best teams in the league in home games as well, going 18-7 in their 25 home contests to date. On the other hand, Los Angeles has actually been decent in road games, sitting a couple of games above the .500 mark. LA comes in having won seven of the last 10 games overall.

John Lester (5-3, 2.48 ERA) gets the ball tonight for the Cubs. He's been impressive at home this season in six starts, posting a 2.29 ERA while striking out 45 hitters in those games. Last year he was beat up a bit by the Dodgers in a pair of starts where he gave up nine earned runs in 10 combined innings, a pair of losses.

Mike Bolsinger (1-1, 4.50) will be making his third start of the year tonight. He's made two career starts at Wrigley Field and gone 1-0 with a 1.24 ERA. The youngster has given up six base hits to Cubs hitters in 20 plate appearances in a very short sample size.

The Cubs are heavily favored, but that is a big line.
