The Cleveland Cavaliers are hosting the Detroit Pistons in the second game of an Eastern Conference first round battle tonight. The game is scheduled for an 8:00 p.m. start time and it will be televised nationally on TNT. Currently the betting odds for the game have the Cavs favored by double digits to pick up the win.

Detroit played a strong first game in this series, a win for them there would certainly have raised some eyebrows. But the Pistons didn’t win and now Cleveland gets a chance to take a 2-0 series leads with a victory tonight.

LeBron James and the Cavs lost three times to Detroit during the regular season, but Cleveland has picked up 14 consecutive first round wins. The Pistons are making their first playoff showing since 2009, Stan Van Gundy and his team believes they still have a chance to push the Cavs in this series.

Detroit is holding firm to their “getting respect from nobody” angle. Van Gundy has a scrappy team built around a potential star in Andre Drummond, but defensively the Pistons have to be better against Cleveland to have a chance.

James, Kyrie Irving and Kevin Love combined to score more than 80 points in the opener, Detroit simply had no answer. Cleveland was a strong team at home all season, they got a bit of a challenge in the first game and will respond in this one.
