The LSU Tigers are hosting the Texas A&M Aggies in SEC College Basketball action Saturday. The game is scheduled for a 1:00 p.m. start time and it will be televised nationally on CBS. Currently the betting odds for the game have the Aggies favored in what should be a close contest.

LSU is still fighting to find a way into the NCAA Tournament. The Tigers are tied atop the SEC standings with South Carolina and Kentucky, those two schools are playing today as well. In either case, LSU can only remain tied for the top spot in the league and it’s certainly a win they need to have.

With only two Top 50 RPI wins and nine losses already on the season, LSU needs a signature win. They have played tough against strong competition and have four resume friendly wins, but they need to add another strong win to Kentucky and Alabama.

Ben Simmons is no doubt the best player in the country and the NCAA needs him in the NCAA Tournament. Without him and the Tigers in the field it will certainly be a disappointment. The Tigers have two strong games the next handful of days in this one and Alabama, both of the contests are at home.

LSU is 3-7 away from home this season in true road and neutral floor games. The only two teams to win in Baton Rouge were Oklahoma and Wake Forest, the loss to the Sooners obviously is a good one on the resume.

Texas A&M  has struggled on the road at 3-4, plus the Aggies have dropped three straight games overall in SEC play and four of five. Three of those defeats came on the road, which gives LSU an advantage here.

The Tigers need to capitalize on a struggling Aggie club.
