The Kentucky Wildcats are on the road in college basketball action tonight, traveling to take on the Kansas Jayhawks. The game is scheduled for a 7:00 p.m. start time and it will be televised nationally on ESPN. Currently the betting odds for the game have the Jayhawks favored to pick up the win at home.

Talk about some heavy hitters. Kentucky and Kansas meet up tonight in Phog Allen in the Big 12/SEC Challenge that has put together some solid matchups. Kentucky isn’t exactly a team that goes on the road quite often in non-conference action, either. This is the first time they are playing at Kansas since the 1990 season and John Calipari’s team knows it’s going to be a crazy atmosphere that will test the will of the Wildcats.

Kansas rarely loses in its own building, they have just a handful of defeats under Bill Self. While this isn’t the typical Kentucky team ranked inside the Top 10 with a ton of NBA talent, Calipari’s club is still capable of pulling an upset.

A win here by either team would be a nice addition to the resume, certainly one for Kentucky. These are the two winningest programs in Division 1 basketball, they have 13 national championships between the two schools and more than 4,300 total wins. Kentucky has won each of the last three matchups in the series. There’s talent all over the floor and even in a historic game like this, it will come down to execution, rebounding and winning at the free-throw line.

This will be an excellent contest between two squads that have Final Four potential. Kansas gets the slight edge because they are at home in this one, a place where Self teams rarely lose. Their experience will make a big impact on this game.
