The Connecticut Huskies are hosting the Cincinnati Bearcats tonight in college basketball action. The game is scheduled for a 7:00 p.m. start time and it will be televised nationally on ESPNu. Cincinnati is just 3-3 in true road games this season, they’ve dropped two of the last three to SMU and Temple by just a single bucket. The Bearcats posted 97 points in their most recent outing, a win over Tulane, but that’s not really indicative of their offensive style of play. The Bearcats average just over 75 points per game and are 66th nationally in adjusted efficiency, but they’ve been able to put together games and pick up wins.
Connecticut has played very well defensive in three straight victories, holding Houston, Tulane and Georgetown to less than 65 points.
Shonn Miller, Rodney Purvis and Sterling Gibbs are all 13-points or better per game, Daniel Hamilton gives the Huskies a potential double-double threat each time he takes the floor. This is the first of two games these schools will play this season, this one is going to be an important one tonight, but when Connecticut heads to Cincinnati it’s going to be an even bigger game.
The Huskies are solid at home, Cincinnati has been average on the road and Connecticut gets the job done here. They’re a short favorite at home and it should be a close contest.
