The Notre Dame Fighting Irish and the Boston College Eagles will take to Fenway Park tonight in college football action. The game is scheduled for a 7:30 p.m. start time and it will be televised nationally on the NBC Sports Network. Currently the betting odds for the game have the Fighting Irish favored to pick up the victory in this one at one of the most iconic venues in all of sport.
This is another installment in the Shamrock Series, Fenway Park has been redesigned (on the playing field, at least) to look like Notre Dame Stadium. The Fighting Irish have risen all the way to the top four rankings in the College Football Playoff and this far away home game should still be an interesting one.
Notre Dame has been able to score points all season, but they will take on a Boston College team this week that has been pretty solid defensively. The Eagles have surrendered an average of just 14.4 points per game to opponents. While they are just 3-7 overall on the season the offense has been just awful.
In those three victories for Boston College, two of them came against Maine and Howard where the Eagles out-scored those two opponents 100-3. Since then the Eagles have just one win over Northern Illinois and are 0-7 in ACC games, being out-scored 127-56 in those games. That's an average of just eight points per game for the Eagles in conference games. That's very bad — very, very, very bad.
Notre Dame's DeShone Kizer and weapons Will Fuller, C.J. Prosise and Josh Adams will all be able to have solid games against Boston College. The thing about playing Boston College is their opponents don't need to put up a ton of points in order to win. Notre Dame can work on whatever they want in this game and as long as they put some type of points on the board, they should be able to cover without a problem.
Boston College has tried four different quarterbacks this season, none of them have worked out. Nothing for that offense is working.
