The TCU Horned Frogs are on the road in Big 12 College Football action today, taking on the Oklahoma State Cowboys. The game is scheduled for a 3:30 p.m. start time and it will be televised nationally on FOX. Currently the betting odds for the game have the Frogs favored to pick up the victory on the road.
TCU got its sign when the first college football playoff came out earlier this week. The Frogs, who have really played nobody to this point in the season, get a real test in this one against Oklahoma State. The Pokes can play defense, score points and defend their home turf. OK State is a perfect 8-0 overall (5-0 Big 12) and they have been scoring a ton of points, having averaged 44 points per game.
The TCU offense is no joke, but will the defense be able to get off the field at any point in this one? Treyvone Boykin has put up a ton of numbers all season and a big game here, on the road against a Top 25 team, could finally get him some of the added attention he deserves. His favorite target is Josh Doctson, who has caught 71 passes already this season for 1,250 yards and 14 touchdowns. The Pokes have to find a way to slow those two down offensively. Oklahoma State didn’t mind Texas Tech putting up points last week, the Cowboys put up 70 themselves.
TCU hasn’t won in Stillwater since 1991, but offensively both teams should have no issues with putting points on the board.
The low line should have Oklahoma State fans feeling good about the situation. TCU has been a monster favorite in every game this season, but it’s always tough to go on the road and win in conference.
Despite Oklahoma State having the firepower to score, pile up yards and look solid at home, TCU is just too good. Then again, with the Frogs opening up at eight in the inaugural pole, can they use that as motivation?
