The New York Mets are on the road tonight in the World Series Game 1 when they take on the Kansas City Royals. The game is scheduled for an 8:07 p.m. start time and it will be televised nationally on FOX. Currently the odds for the game have the Mets favored to pick up the victory on the road.

Great pitching matchup here in the World Series between the Mets and the Royals. New York is going to hand the baseball to Matt Harvey in this Game 1, looking to get ahead and steal a game from the Royals in Kansas City. Harvey battled with Mets brass a bit toward the end of the regular season in regards to innings pitched and what not, but here Harvey is, getting the baseball for New York.

The Mets have been an impressive team this post season, Daniel Murphy has been amazing at the plate and the rest of the team has rallied around that. While they don't have the best lineup in the league, the Mets have the veteran leadership of guys like David Wright and plenty of solid hitters sprinkled throughout the lineup.

Edinson Volquez gets the baseball. He's been solid for the Royals during the playoffs and has earned the right to pitch this opening game. The pitching staff for both teams has been great, the matchup between Volquez and Harvey should be an excellent way to open the World Series.

Overall, New York should have the advantage in starting pitching, but the Royals have the best bullpen in baseball. Kansas City has proven that all post season, taking out the Astros and the Blue Jays. If Kansas City can build any kind of lead heading into the sixth inning and later, it certainly gives them an advantage.

The prices in the World Series games will look nice for both teams throughout this. Kansas City at home, as an underdog is certainly attractive. In a low-scoring game, why not take the team that was in this situation last year?
