The New York Jets are on the road, taking on the New England Patriots in NFL Sunday action. The game is scheduled for a 1:00 p.m. start time and it will be televised live on CBS. Currently the betting odds for the game have the Patriots favored to pick up the victory.
New England is still out for blood against everybody in the NFL. The Patriots are looking to beat up on everyone they play this season and the Jets are up next on the list. It’s no secret that these teams don’t exactly get along, but it’s also no secret that both teams come into this contest playing well.
The Pats are 5-0 and they’ve beaten everybody by at least a touchdown and they should be favored in each of their next four games following this one, which would put them potentially at 10-0 before heading to take on the Denver Broncos. Bill Belichik and the boys aren’t the type of team to overlook anybody and they know the Jets are playing well, but nobody in the league looks as polished as New England.
Tom Brady has thrown just one pick on the season compared to 14 touchdowns, he’s going to fly past the 1,700 yard mark for the year in this one as well. Brady has a tough matchup in this one as the Jet corners are pretty solid and the duo of Darrelle Rivas and Antonio Cromartie can be physical in coverage. New England has small, speedy receivers and that could be an advantage for them. Besides, Cromartie might have to go up every snap with Rob Gronkowski as he is the only one big enough to hold his ground against the massive tight end for the Pats.
Chris Ivory should continue to get a healthy dose of the football for the Jet offense. The Patriots aren’t the best team in the league against the run, ranking 11th worst officially and allowing almost 115 on the ground per contest. Ivory has been a solid tailback for the Jets, who like to play that physical style of football.
New York also has no problem with Ryan Fitzpatrick tossing the football to Brandon Marshall. If the Jets can move the football against New England, it makes this game a whole lot more interesting.
New England is just too tough to beat at home.
