College Football Odds Western Michigan Broncos at No. 1 Ohio State Buckeyes

The top-ranked Ohio State Buckeyes welcome in the Western Michigan Broncos in college football action on Saturday afternoon. The game is scheduled for a 3:30 p.m. start time and will be televised live on ABC or ESPN2 depending on the market. Currently the betting odds for the game have the Buckeyes favored to roll in this one.

Ohio State names Cardale Jones as the starting quarterback this week, Urban Meyer said. He hasn’t looked great, outside of a quarter or so against Virginia Tech, but Meyer believes he is the right fit to start the game for the Bucks.

J.T. Barret has looked nice in his time under center, he’s probably going to see action on the field as well. Whether Meyer wants to admit it or not, he’s probably going to have to settle on a quarterback moving forward once Big Ten play starts. Jones has shown signs of being a very good quarterback, but often times is prone to making mistakes, like throwing two picks against Northern Illinois last week.

The offense sputtered a bit against those Huskies, the Buckeyes found a way to survive in the end but it certainly was close. Meyer and his team don’t want a repeat performance of that from Western Michigan.

The Broncos rebounded nicely from an 0-2 start by beating up on Murray State last week, 52-20 as Zach Terrell tossed four touchdowns and 355 yards. WMU scored double digit points in all four quarters in that game, Murray State didn’t reach double digits until the final quarter.

Jarvion Franklin rushed for 161 and a touchdown for the Broncos. He, along with Corey Davis, give the Broncos a couple of really nice playmakers on offense that Ohio State will have to find a way to stop.

Ezekiel Elliot and the Bucks should have no problems moving the football, although they did struggle last week against Northern Illinois. Meyer and his coaching staff shouldn’t accept another lackluster effort, which would be Ohio State’s second straight. They’re heavily favored in this one and there’s no reason they shouldn’t be. If they are right this week they can beat up on Western.
