NFL Preseason Football New England Patriots at Carolina Panthers Start Time, Odds, Free Pick

The New England Patriots are on the road tonight, taking on the Carolina Panthers in NFL Preseason Football action. The game is scheduled for a 7:30 p.m. start time and it will be televised live in both markets. Currently the odds have the game listed as a PICK EM, hopefully this turns into a solid contest.

New England has said there will be several players that won't see the field tonight. The Patriots are on the verge of defending their Super Bowl title this year and have their star quarterback in the middle of a power struggle with NFL commissioner Roger Goodell. He played a bit in each of the Patriots' first two games, it's unclear whether he will play again tonight at all.

Jimmy Garoppolo threw the football 33 times in the team's most recent win over New Orleans. It's no surprise that the Patriots have no problem throwing the ball quite a bit, but they did also run the ball 35 times. No one really stood out with the football in their hands but Garoppolo really did spread the receptions around to his receivers.

Carolina has picked up wins in both of their preseason games, beating Buffalo 25-24 and Miami 31-30. It's be the slimmest of margins, but it works. Cam Newton will once again probably see the field for a series or two before exiting the contest. He's looked rusty so far this preseason, but he's got some time to get it all figured out. Carolina ran for 119 yards last week on 29 carries, Brandon Wegher scored two touchdowns on the ground.

The Panthers love to run the football and that should continue again tonight. This game is listed as a PICK EM so hopefully it's a close contest like Carolina has played two games prior to this one. The Panthers played New England last year in the preseason and beat up on the Patriots, but Newton took off on a running play and had a strange fall, as the play continued he took a knee to his ribs, earning himself a fracture that kept him out of the home opener. While that doesn't mean history can repeat itself or that Newton will be more cautious tonight, hopefully he remembers it's the preseason and there's no real reason to get that extra yard or force anything.

The backups should play well, there should be some points scored.

Movie Oakland Raiders: 2015 NFL Free Picks & Betting Odds

Vegas betting expert Steve Fezzik doesn’t expect the bad situation in Oakland to get much better this season. This AFC West team may have some improvements in terms of personnel, but Jack Del Rio is the latest in a carousel of ever-changing mediocre coaches, and Fezzik doesn’t expect he is the guy to turn this team around. He also thinks people are overstating Derek Carr’s abilities at quarterback, as he may do well in the fourth quarter, but his numbers are padded with garbage time performance.
