Major League Baseball Los Angeles Dodgers at Arizona Diamondbacks Start Time, Odds, Free Pick

The Los Angeles Dodgers are on the road tonight when they take on the Arizona Diamondbacks in Major League Baseball action. The game is scheduled for a 9:40 p.m. start time and it will be televised live on MLB.tv. Currently the odds for the game have the Diamondbacks favored to pick up the win in this one at home.

The Dodgers still hold first place in the National League West, now just a half game over the San Francisco Giants. Arizona has been able to battle to sit above both San Diego and Colorado this season, yet the Diamondbacks are now two games under the .500 mark and sit five games behind the Dodgers.

Los Angeles could have a much bigger lead in the NL West, but they're not very good in road games, going just 16-22 this season. The Diamondbacks picked up a win over the Dodgers on Monday and both teams are now 5-5 the last 10 games overall.

Getting the ball for LA will be Carlos Frias. He's 5-5 on the year with a 4.31 ERA in 11 starts. He's pitched much better on the road, though, sporting a record of 3-2 with a 2.45 ERA in 29 1/3 innings of work. Frias has allowed just one home run away from Dodger Stadium in 2015, but he's still allowing opponents to hit .282 against him. Current Diamondbacks have an average of .273 against him in 44 plate appearances with a couple of guys collecting two base hits off of him.

The Diamondbacks will send Rubby De La Rosa, 6-3 with a 4.69 ERA, to the mound tonight. He's made two starts against the Dodgers this season and has given up a combined 16 earned runs in those games, both losses. De La Rosa will have to pitch better against the Dodgers in this one or it could be another rough night.

Current Dodgers are hitting .327 against him in 55 plate appearances. Andre Either, Howie Kendrick, Joc Pederson, Jimmy Rollins and Justin Turner have all homered off him.

Movie Stop the All-Star Game Ballot Stuffing

Pro handicappers Teddy Covers and Steve Fezzik have a bone to pick with MLB Commisioner Bud Selig, who decided the All-Star exhibition game will determine World Series home field advantage. With Royals fans currently voting seven Kansas City players into the starting line up of the American League team, this popularity-based roster of an exhibition game which has way too much impact on the most important baseball series of the year.
