SEC College Basketball Florida Gators at Alabama Crimson Tide Start Time, Betting Odds

The Florida Gators and Alabama Crimson Tide take to the court tonight in SEC College Basketball action. The game is scheduled for a 9:00 p.m. start time and it will be televised nationally on ESPN. Currently the Betting Odds for the game have this one listed as a pick em between these teams.

The Florida Gators have not had the type of season they wanted, looking very poor at times on the court. Just a 10-9 record for the Gators has them in the middle of the pack in the SEC with a 3-3 conference record. Obviously everyone is looking up at Kentucky in that conference, but many expected Florida to be near the top at the end of the year as well. There's still time for that, but with inconsistent play all season Florida is probably not getting there.

Alabama is also 3-3 in the league and for some reason isn't favored by even a couple of buckets in this game. The Gators come into tonight's contest having lost three straight and getting beat up in all three by Georgia, LSU and Ole Miss. Billy Donovan's team has to regroup and a win here tonight would be big for them moving forward.

The Gators don't score a lot of points (67.5 per game), don't rebound the basketball well (34.2 per game) but play very good defense. Florida is allowing opponents to score just under 60 points per game this season, but in their recent three-game skid gave up at least 72 points in each.

Alabama narrowly beat Auburn in their last game or the Crimson Tide would be on a four-game losing streak themselves. The Tide have gone 11-1 in home games this season, but the question once again has to be asked — why are they not favored in this game?

Levi Randolph leads the Crimson Tide in scoring at15 points per game. He'll match up with either Michael Frazier (13.8 ppg) or Dorian Finney-Smith (13.7 ppg) from the Gators in this one. Florida hasn't had a guy that can step up and take over basketball games yet this season, but tonight they'll need both Frazier and Finney-Smith to play big games.

Alabama has Kentucky on deck while Florida plays Arkansas. And despite the Crimson Tide being the better team to this point in the season and being a good home team, they aren't getting any love from the oddsmakers. Something stinks here.
