The Denver Broncos hit the road to take on the St. Louis Rams in NFL Football action today. The game is scheduled for a 1:00 p.m. start time and it will be televised live on CBS. Currently the odds for the game have the Broncos favored to pick up the win on the road.
Denver has played like the best team in the league this season. Peyton Manning is breaking records and scoring points as the Broncos are leaving carnage in the ruins after their games. Denver might be the most complete team in the league when they have everyone healthy and on the football field. Manning has no problems throwing touchdown passes and leading the Broncos to scoring points.
But this very well could be a spot where the Broncos lay an egg and don't play well. It's the team's third straight road game and the Rams aren't a good football team, so the Broncos are expected to be a big winner here. But St. Louis has proven this season that they are capable of playing well in big games. The Rams put a scare into Dallas and Philadelphia and already owns wins over both Seattle and San Francisco. Yet despite the big wins at times, the Rams are just 3-6 on the season and sitting in the basement of the NFC West.
Rams head coach Jeff Fisher has seen enough of Manning in his career, dating back to his time as the head coach of the Tennessee Titans. But he should have his team prepared for this one. The Rams are going to have to play well on both sides of the football and get lucky at times in this one in order to win. QB Austin Davis has filled in pretty good for the Rams, but offensively they have some problems. Keeping up with Denver won't be easy.
