The Green Bay Packers and Miami Dolphins meet up in NFL Football action on Sunday. The game is scheduled for a 1 p.m. start time and it will be televised live on FOX. Currently the odds for the game have the Packers favored by a field goal in this one.
Both teams could use a win here today, but the Packers might be best suited moving forward. After starting the season kind of shaky the Pack have won two straight games in impressive fashion over the Chicago Bears and Minnesota Vikings, claiming the two wins by a combined 53 points.
Miami is 2-2 and combing off a bye week. They own a couple of impressive wins — knocking off New England in the opening week of the season and beating Oakland in London a few weeks back. But is this team a playoff contender? They were drilled in their middle two games so far this season, losing by 19 points to both Buffalo and Kansas City.
The Dolphins are a running team, ranking fifth in the league at just over 142 yards on the ground per game. Lamar Miller has had to shoulder a big amount of the workload as Knowshon Moreno went down with an injury earlier this year. The Packers are the worst team in the league against the run this season, so it's safe to anticipate Miller getting a lot of touches this week, even with the nagging foot injury.
Green Bay has the best quarterback in football with Aaron Rogers. He's got several weapons to utilize in this one, but Miami's defense has been pretty solid this season. Jordy Nelson and Randall Cobb have combined to catch 10 TDs this year and nearly 60 passes total. Rogers should be able to get them the football, but Miami's secondary has only given up an average of 215 yards through the air this season, ranking ninth. But playing perennial running teams in Buffalo, Kansas City and a back Oakland team might skew those numbers a bit.
In this one, Green Bay is just the better team. They're on a roll with two very solid wins and look for them to get it done again this week.
