College Football USC Trojans at Arizona Wildcats Start Time, Odds, Free Pick

Is USC Finally Ready to Take Back the Pac-12?

The USC Trojans have fallen from the rankings and now travel to take on the 10th-ranked Arizona Wildcats in college football action on Saturday night. The game is scheduled for a 10:30 p.m. start time and it will be televised nationally on ESPN2. Currently the odds for the game have USC favored on the road.

Arizona catapulted to No. 10 in the polls after knocking off Oregon on the road last Thursday night. That's certainly a good win for the Wildcats, who are now 5-0 on the season and averaging almost 40 points per game. Anu Solomon has been a huge bright spot for Arizona so far this season as the freshman has pitched the ball around for better than 1,700 yards and 14 touchdowns. Arizona ranks in the Top 10 nationally with 350 yards per game.

USC has dropped two of their last three games overall, falling at Boston College and losing at home last week, on a Hail Mary pass to end the game, against Arizona State. That was certainly a tough way for the Trojans to lose, but defensively they didn't exactly have the best coverage down field. USC surrendered better than 540 yards of offense to Arizona State in that contest, including 510 through the air to backup quarterback Mike Bercovici, who also had five touchdowns.

Gameplan for Arizona seems to be simple: throw the ball as much as possible. Arizona State had just 31 yards on the ground last week but didn't appear to need to run the ball. The Sun Devils held the football for just 22 minutes, scoring quickly on every possession.

While it may seem odd that the 10th ranked team in the country is a dog on their own field, note the 10-2 series run for USC in the series. The Trojans are also 29-8 all-time against Arizona.

Cody Kessler and the USC offense are going to need a big game in this one. Javorius Allen needs to get a lot of touches in the backfield and USC has to establish their run game. Don't expect the defense to be as poor as they were last week as they surely have heard about their mistakes.

USC has a lot of talent but not a lot of depth. But they are favored on the road over the No. 10 Wildcats, so somebody knows something. Look for USC to get back on track in this one.

Free Pick: USC 34, Arizona 28
