College Football Memphis Tigers at Ole Miss Rebels Start Time, Odds, Free Pick

Ole Miss Football: Confident QB Bo Wallace Key to Rebels Upset Bid

The 10th-ranked Ole Miss Rebels welcome in the Memphis Tigers in college football action Saturday. The game is scheduled for a 7:30 p.m. start time and it will be televised live on ESPN Gameplan. Currently the odds for the game have the Rebels favored by almost three touchdowns.

Hugh Freeze certainly has Ole Miss heading in the right direction. The Rebels have cracked the Top 10 nationally in the polls and they're looking for a successful season in the SEC. Tonight they take on a Memphis club that is a mere bump in the road on a schedule that includes games against Alabama, Texas A&M, LSU, Auburn and Mississippi State.

The recipe for Ole Miss this season has been pretty simple — let Bo Wallace pitch the ball all over the yard, run the ball as much as necessary and keep teams from scoring points. The Rebels have held Boise State, Vanderbilt and Louisiana-Lafayette to just 31 combined points this season. The 10.3 points per game allowing by Ole Miss ranks third best in the country.

Wallace has completed 75 percent of his passes so far this year, throwing just 23 incompletions. Four of those were interceptions and he's already eclipsed the 1,000-yard mark for the season with nine touchdowns.

Both of these schools are in plus-territory for the turnover battle, Memphis sitting at +3 while Ole Miss is +4 on the season. The Rebels are coming off a bye, but they do host the Crimson Tide next weekend. Many SEC clubs have layup games this week with tough ones on deck, but Ole Miss should be in the category of teams not looking ahead to next Saturday.

Freeze will have his club ready to go in this one and Wallace will whip it all over the place. The Rebels have gotten great play from several receivers this season, including Cody Core and Vince Sanders. Paired with Laquon Treadwell, the trio has posted 645 yards receiving and seven scores.

Look for more of that tonight. Memphis is better than they have been in the past and have decent special teams units, but they will be overmatched in this one tonight.

Free Pick: Ole Miss 49, Memphis 21
