College Football Georgia Bulldogs at South Carolina Gamecocks Start Time, Odds, Free Pick

Georgia vs. South Carolina: TV Info, Spread, Injury Updates, Game Time and More

A battle in the SEC takes place in college football action Saturday when the No. 6 Georgia Bulldogs travel to take on the 24th-ranked South Carolina Gamecocks. The game is scheduled for a 3:30 p.m. start time and it will be televised nationally on CBS. Currently the odds for the game have Georgia favored to win this one on the road.

The Georgia Bulldogs looked very impressive in their opening game of the season, beating Clemson pretty soundly. The Bulldogs will look to feed the rock to Todd Gurley as much as possible in this one. Georgia hasn't, however, had a lot of success playing at South Carolina, having scored only 27 points total their last three appearance there. The Bulldogs are coming off a win over the Gamecocks from last year, ending the South Carolina run of three straight wins in the series. The Bulldogs were ranked 11th last year, favored by almost a touchdown, with No. 6 South Carolina coming in and won by double digits.

In this game, Georgia is again laying almost a touchdown, which is certainly a statement from the oddsmakers on the state of football for both Georgia and South Carolina. The Gamecocks have given up a ton of yards this season already, surrendering 680 to Texas A&M in the opener and 453 last week to East Carolina. Georgia looked very strong offensively against a Clemson team that has speed and a pretty solid defense.

The Bulldogs have an edge on special teams and are going to have an offense coming in looking to eat up yards, keep the Gamecocks on the field and get points on the board.

But two straight losses in South Carolina gives the Gamecocks a bit of an edge. This is a game that South Carolina has to win to stay afloat in the SEC East. A loss here would put South Carolina at 0-2 in the division with a ton of season still left to play.

Dylan Thompson needs to play well at the quarterback position for South Carolina. Georgia gave up better than 200 yards through the air to Clemson in their opener, but the Dawgs were playing ahead the entire second half. Georgia's defense as a whole way very good, holding Clemson to an average of just 3.8 yards per play.

Look for Georgia to get Gurley involved early. The Bulldogs are better up front and have the better overall team. But laying a touchdown on the road in the SEC isn't a plan for success.

Free Pick: Georgia 34, South Carolina 31
