NFL Preseason Atlanta Falcons vs Houston Texans Start Time, Odds

Could the Atlanta Falcons Stick with the Same Offensive Line Personnel in 2014?

The Atlanta Falcons and Houston Texans meet up tonight in NFL Preseason action. The contest is scheduled for an 8:00 p.m. start time and the odds for the game have the Texans favored at home.

Houston Texans -3 -115 -170 Un 41 -110

The Atlanta Falcons picked up a win in their opening game of the preseason, knocking off the Miami Dolphins 16-10. QB Matt Ryan actually played a little bit in that one, completing all seven of his passes for 53 yards. Ryan will probably see about the same amount of time in tonight's game.

Atlanta scored the final nine points of that game against the Dolphins, getting field goals from Matt Bryant and Sergio Castillo to cap off drives. The Falcons dominated the game from a yardage standpoint, out-gaining Miami 372-229 for the game, holding a better than six-minute time of possession advantage as well. Atlanta threw 38 passes in that game and ran it 32 times, but they weren't able to gain a lot of yards on the ground (84). They'll want to improve that tonight.

The Texans were drilled in the opening week of the preseason, 32-0, on the road. Yet, we see the oddsmakers have them favored by a field goal in tonight's game, so that's either an overreaction or they will be that much more focused in this one.

Houston did nothing right last week, trailing in first downs (27-9), total plays (74-41) and total yards (407-172). Arizona was 11-of-17 on third down while the Texans went 0-for-8. Certainly Houston has a lot to improve. They'll also want to hang onto the football more in this one, as well.

Arizona dominated the time of possession last week, 42:07 to 17:53. They forced two Texan turnovers and held them to just 82 yards passing. Houston needs to figure out their quarterbacks and do a better job offensively or they will get steamrolled again in this one tonight.

Atlanta is a better team, so we're going to take them to outright win tonight.
