Last season the Ole Miss Rebels had the most wins in four years and are looking to eclipse that number again this year. The 2014 Ole Miss Rebels Schedule has only four road games on it, giving them a legitimate shot at being a contender in the SEC West this sesaon.
The Rebels open up with a neutral site game against Boise State as someone is finally willing to take on the Broncos in a non-league game. Ole Miss is bigger, stronger and has a better team this season, however. They should start the season with a 4-0 record before hosting the mighty Alabama Crimson Tide the first game in October. That game starts a tough stretch by then traveling to Texas A&M, hosting Tennessee, traveling to LSU and hosting Auburn.
Those five games will determine just how good Ole Miss can be this season.
The Rebels finished 8-5 last season and beat Georgia Tech 25-17 in the Music City Bowl last year. They return 16 starters from last year's club and Bo Wallace, the quarterback, is expected to have a very good season. He's thrown for better than 6,300 yards in his career and has a monster target in sophomore Laquon Treadwell, one of the best recruits in the country just two seasons ago. He caught five TDs and better than 600 yards last season.
The Ole Miss defense is going to be elite. Robert Nkemdiche was a Freshmen All-American last season and he's going to wreak havoc up front this season. The Ole Miss secondary is very good, which could allow the defensive line to punish quarterbacks.
The SEC is always loaded with talented teams and we expect the Rebels to improve on their seven and eight win seasons the past two years. If the offense can score points, the Rebs have the potential to get to double digits in the win column.
