College basketball Indiana Hoosiers vs Nebraska Cornhuskers Start Time, Odds, Free Pick

The Indiana Hoosiers hit the road in Big Ten college basketball action tonight when they take on the Nebraska Cornhuskers. The game is scheduled for an 8:15 p.m. start time and it will be televised live on the Big Ten Network. Currently the odds for the game have the Cornhuskers favored by a possession in this game at home.

Indiana isn't the same team they've been in the past few years, but Tom Crean's team is still looking to get back into the NCAA Tournament. Joe Lunardi still doesn't have the Hoosiers in his bracketology, but if Indiana can keep winning games in the best conference in America, they might play themselves in the game. A victory tonight over a middle of the road Nebraska team would certainly help them.

Nebraska is a pretty solid team when playing at home and now they have a new arena. The Cornhuskers most recently knocked off Minnesota after beating Ohio State last week. Indiana has their work cut out for them and they're the underdog here, probably based on Nebraska's home court advantage.

The Hoosiers have the Big Ten's top team in No. 10 Michigan coming to Assembly Hall on Sunday, so that might be a bit of a distraction. But even beating the Wolverines on Sunday won't mean much if they lose this game against Nebraska. This game will be won on the glass.

Indiana is one of the best rebounding teams in the country, pulling down better than 42 per game, which puts them in the Top 10 nationally. Nebraska is not a great rebounding team, so if they can keep the Huskers off the boards in this one they'll be in the game. Terran Petteway tossed in 35 points in the Huskers' win over Minnesota and he'll need a big game in this contest as well.

Yogi Ferrell leads the Hoosiers in scoring at 17.5 points per game and freshman Noah Vonleh will have a solid contest in this one. Vonleh can score, rebound and block shots and that on the interior tonight will be a big deal. Indiana should be more physical in this game and we expect them to play well.

But when it comes down to it, the guy that might make the biggest impact is Hoosier senior Will Sheehey. He can bury the 3-pointer and we like him in transition tonight. Nebraska has picked up some big wins at home this season, but we think Indiana needs this win more than the Huskers and that will show tonight.
