SEC Football Tennessee Volunteers vs Kentucky Wildcats Start Time, Odds, Free Pick

The Tennessee Volunteers take on the Kentucky Wildcats today in SEC football action. The game is scheduled for a 7 p.m. start time and it will be televised nationally on ESPNu. Currently the odds for the game Tennessee as a road favorite by about a field goal.

Both teams have been unsuccessful this season. Kentucky hasn't been very good for some time now. The school's have a combined record of just 6-16 this season and have just one win in the SEC between them. Awful. It's also the final game on the schedule for both teams, so at least those who are fans won't have to deal with another week of this horrid play.

All that being said, Tennessee is probably the better team here. They've dealt with inconsistent play and injuries all season and at least they've been competitive in games this season. And they've played the toughest schedule in the country (in our opinion) so even winning five games is pretty remarkable. Freshman QB Josh Dobbs hasn't throw a touchdown yet since he came in to fill the signal caller spot based on injury. That means Tennessee hasn't had a touchdown pass in four games.

But maybe they'll be able to throw the rock tonight in this game. Kentucky has just a single interception on the season. That's one of the strangest stats in all of college football. You'd think even a terrible team like Kentucky would be able to have more than one interception defensively, but they don't.

Taking Kentucky and their offense in this game might be sketchy. But then again, Tennessee has Vanderbilt beat last week but weren't able to put them away. If Kentucky hangs around in the fourth quarter, who knows, they might be able to end their season with a positive.

This one is for the die hard fans of both schools. Tennessee seems to be the better overall team and they are favored in this one on the road. That's probably the smart move here.

Free Pick: Tennessee 27, Kentucky 20
