SEC Football Tennessee Volunteers at Alabama Crimson Tide Start Time, Odds

The top-ranked Alabama Crimson Tide welcome in the Tennessee Volunteers in SEC football action on Saturday. The game is scheduled for a 3:30 p.m. start time and it will be televised nationally on CBS. Currently the odds for the game have the Crimson Tide favored by four touchdowns.

There's been a lot of speculation surrounding Nick Saban and the potential of him leaving for the University of Texas. That seems pretty far fetched, especially with what he's been able to accomplish at Alabama. The future doesn't matter to Saban, what matters is Alabama is hosting Tennessee in SEC action Saturday.

Alabama has been drawing a lot of contention for the top spot in college football this season. Many people think Oregon and even Florida State are better suited to win a national championship this season. Sure, many say that Alabama's defense isn't as good as it was last year, but the Tide still are a dominant force on both sides of the football. The defense allows less than 10 points per game on average, which is tops in the country. They also rank nine in run and pass defense and fifth in total defense.

Tennessee has played Georgia, South Carolina and now the Crimson Tide in three straight games, but that's what many teams are facing at times during SEC action. Head coach Butch Jones and company will look to build off their win over South Carolina but this week might not go their way. Tennessee has consecutive games coming up against Mizzou and Auburn as well — it just never seems to get any easier in this conference.

The Vols love to run the football and will attempt to run at Alabama's front seven all game. The difference will be the play of the Volunteer defense. They give up an average of 27 points per game which isn't good, but if they can play stellar against the Tide's offense, Tennessee will hang around. But we don't believe they have enough play makers on that side of the football to make a major impact on this game.

Alabama has won back to back games over Kentucky and Arkansas by a combined 100-7. That's getting the job done.
