The entire NFL Season Win Totals have been released by the Las Vegas Hotel (formerly Hilton). The Jaguars have been projected with an over/under of 5 wins this season. The AFC South saw the Jaguars finish fourth last season with a 2-14 record. The LVH has released season win totals for each of the NFL franchises and the Jaguars are once again projected to be one of the worst teams in football.
And what an opening game we have this season, with the two worst teams in the NFL playing each other in the opening week when Kansas City comes to Jacksonville. Awesome. Last year the Chiefs beat out the Jags for the worst record in football and the Jaguars drafted Luke Joeckel with the second overall pick to try and regain a cornerstone for their franchise.
But who is going to be the quarterback? Chad Henne threw more than 300 passes last season while youngster Blaine Gabbert had better than 275 pass attempts. They need to figure that out. The duo combined to throw just 20 touchdowns compared to 17 interceptions in last year's games. The Jags absolutely struggled to score points a season ago and hopefully Maurice Jones-Drew is back to being completely healthy this season.
The defense wasn't very good either, giving up nearly 400 yards per game last season to opponents. Paul Posluszny has been a pretty solid bright spot for the Jags however. As he continues to improve the Jaguar defense should get better as well. But this year's schedule isn't doing them any favors. They already have to play four games against Indianapolis and Houston. Pair that with road trips to Oakland, Seattle, St. Louis and Denver in a span of four weeks and there will be some troubles. San Francisco also comes to Florida this season as well. Going to be tough to get that five wins.
