The NCAA Women's Final Four takes place tonight and the marquee matchup will see the Connecticut Huskies take on the Notre Dame Fighting Irish. The game is scheduled for an 8:30 p.m. start time and it will be televised nationally on ESPN. Currently the odds for the game have Connecticut as a slight favorite.

Both teams are No. 1 seeds, so it's no surprise that they are here in the Final Four. This will also be the fourth time these two teams will meet on the hardwood with Notre Dame winning the previous three games.

In fact, Notre Dame lost only once this season, to Baylor. Yet this is their third straight Final Four appearance. Connecticut is also no stranger to being in this position. They've had the most consistent women's program the last 15 years.

Lady Irish star Skylar Diggins says the only thing she has left to do is win a national championship. She's accomplished so much at South Bend that now she has her mindset on winning the whole thing. Look for her to have a big game tonight as big players show up on big stages. Her team has won 26 straight games overall.

Two years ago, the Huskies had won the first three meetings before Notre Dame beat them in the Final Four. UConn has lost only 11 games since starting its record 90-game winning streak in 2008-09 -- but seven came against Notre Dame.

Geno Auriemma will certainly have his team ready to go, as always. He has several players in this game tonight that will be looking to score, including Breanna Stewart, who had 21 points in the team's beat down of Kentucky in the Elite Eight. Stefanie Dolson has been battling a stress fracture in her right ankle and an injured left foot, too, but reports are that Dolson practiced all week. That has allowed Stewart to step up and play well for the Huskies.

It's going to be hard for Notre Dame to beat Connecticut again, and oddsmakers are telling you that by making the Lady Huskies the favorite. Yet, Diggins seems to be on a mission and we expect her to will her team to the win tonight. Look for Diggins to have a monster game and get the Lady Irish to the national championship game.
