Colin Kaepernick Super Bowl Prop Bets

http://babesdigballs.com/wp-content/uploads/2013/01/130124_ColinKaepernick.jpg
Colin Kaepernick will make just his 10th career start on Sunday when the San Francisco 49ers square off against the Baltimore Ravens in Super Bowl XLVII, but he has already become the face of the franchise. As such, Kaepernick is the subject of numerous Super Bowl Prop Bets, giving football bettors every opportunity to make (or lose) a little money on the second year phenom.

Super Bowl XLVII – Odds to Win MVP –

Colin Kaepernick 8/5

At 8/5 odds ($100 wins $160) is the favorite to win Super Bowl MVP honors. Should Kaepernick, who compiled a 109.5 passer rating in playoff wins over the Packers and Falcons, continue on his current course the prospects of him winning MVP seems probable. Also working in Kaepernick’s favor is the fact that quarterbacks have won the MVP award 25 times (next closet position is running back with seven) overall and five times in the last six years.

Total Passing Yards – Colin Kaepernick

Over 232.5 (-125)
Under 232.5 (-105)

Kaepernick averaged 233.8 pass yards per game in his nine starts this season and he posted an average of 248 pass yards per game in the Niners two playoff wins. Baltimore has given up an average of 286.7 pass yards per game during the playoffs.

Total TD Passes – Colin Kaepernick

0 (+275)
1 (+200)
2 (+250)
3 (+400)
4 or more (+750)

Kaepernick has three touchdowns in the playoffs (one against Green Bay, two against Atlanta), and he has 13 total touchdown passes since taking over as the starting quarterback. Kaepernick has thrown zero touchdown passes two times, one touchdown pass three times, two touchdowns passes three times, and four touchdowns passes one time.

Total Interceptions – Colin Kaepernick

0 (+110)
1 (+160)
2 (+450)
3 (+1000)
4 or more (+1500)

Kaepernick has four career interceptions and he has never thrown more than one in a game.

Total Completions – Colin Kaepernick

Over 17.5 (-120)
Under 17.5 (-110)

Kaepernick is averaging 17 completions per game, but he has recorded more than 17 completions in a game just three times in nine starts.

Total Pass Attempts – Colin Kaepernick

Over 27.5 (-120)
Under 27.5 (-105)

Kaepernick is averaging 27.1 pass attempts per game, and he has attempted 27.5 or more passes in four of his nine starts.

Longest Completion – Colin Kaepernick

Over 37.5 Yards (-120)
Under 37.5 Yards (-110)

Kaepernick has completed a pass of 37.5 or more yards five times this season. The longest pass play Baltimore gave up during the regular season was 59 yards; it gave up a pass of 40 or more yards eight times. The longest pass play the Ravens have allowed in the playoffs was 36 yards and they have yet to allow a pass of 40 or more yards in the postseason.

Total Rushing Yards – Colin Kaepernick

Over 50.5 Yards (-115)
Under 50.5 Yards (-115)

Everyone remembers Kaepernick’s outburst against the Packers, but he also crested the 50 yard mark on three other occasions. However, remove his performance against Green Bay and Kaepernick averaged 35 rush yards per game in games where he registered two or more carries.

Longest Rush – Colin Kaepernick

Over 19.5 Yards (-135)
Under 19.5 Yards (+105)

Kaepernick’s 56 yard scamper against the Packers was his longest of the season, but he also notched runs of 20 or more yards against the Jets, Rams, Dolphins, and Falcons.

Will Colin Kaepernick score a rushing TD in the game?

Yes (+115)
No (-145)

Kaepernick has seven rushing touchdowns on the season, but he scored just one in the five games leading up to San Francisco’s Divisional playoff game with the Packers and he did not score one against the Falcons.

What will Colin Kaepernick do first?

Throw a TD Pass (-250)
Throw an Interception (+195)

While Kaepernick did toss a pick six in the Niners opening possession against Green Bay, it seems unlikely he would throw an interception before throwing a touchdown in the Super Bowl (he’s only thrown four interceptions all season while throwing 13 touchdown passes).
