The Utah Jazz will attempt to bounce back from Monday’s embarrassing loss to the Rockets later this evening when they host the New Orleans Hornets at the EnergySolutions Arena (9:00pm ET start time). The loss, which served as the worst home setback in Utah history, saw Houston shoot 52.8 percent from the field and 47.1 percent from beyond the arc.
Despite the Jazz shocking and unexpected performance opposite the Rockets, they are expected to get the better of the Hornets this evening. New Orleans is 8-5 in its last 13 games, but it has reverted back to its early season form of late, dropping four of its last six contests.
The Hornets, who are in the middle of a five game road swing, suffered their 30th loss last night, falling 111-106 to the Lakers at the STAPLES Center. New Orleans got 18 and 25 points from Anthony Davis and Eric Gordon, respectively, but it got out-rebounded 50 to 37 and allowed Los Angeles to connect on 39 of its 79 field goal attempts.
New Orleans, which is traveling to altitude on short rest, will need a quick recovery; however, that does not seem probable considering it is 2-8 straight up and 2-7-1 against the spread in its last 10 games at Utah.
