Sunday NFL Football Denver Broncos at Carolina Panthers: Start Time, Odds, Free Pick

Peyton Manning and the Denver Broncos travel east to take on the Carolina Panthers in Sunday NFL Football. The game is scheduled for a 1:00 pm start time and it will be televised live on CBS. Currently the odds for the game have the Broncos favored by 4 points.

It's clear that Manning and the Denver offense preaches being consistent and balanced. Denver has been able to push the ball downfield with Manning chucking it all over the field and the combination of backs getting chunks of yards. Denver averages more than 292 passing yards per game, which is good for fourth in the NFL. Yet, the Broncos can also run the ball effectively, rolling up an average of 107 yards per game. Together that has pushed the Broncos into a 5-3 record. Not many thought Denver would lose a whole lot of games with Manning under center, but their three losses have come to Atlanta, Houston and New England.

Denver has now won three straight games and Manning picked up his 48th career winning drive in the fourth quarter of that game. That's tops in the NFL history books. Manning had been throwing it for several yards per game, eclipsing the 300-yard mark in five straight games. However, in last week's game Manning threw for just 291 yards. So close.

Manning has 20 touchdowns and six interceptions this year.

Carolina comes into today's game off a big win at Washington last week. That got the Panthers off a five game losing streak. The Redskins did out-gain the Panthers and picked up more first downs, but they did have the football quite a bit in the second half and were playing from behind as Carolina took the lead.

Cam Newton has proven he can turn the football over, but his athleticism could pose a problem against the Bronco defense in this contest.

Got to believe there is going to be an added incentive for John Fox in this one. Remember, he was the coach of the Panthers before being shown the door a few seasons ago. Probably some sort of revenge on his mind.

Carolina is reportedly going to be without Jon Beason and Chris Gamble, two of their better defenders, in this contest today. Both are experienced players that will be missed.

During the last six games, Manning has thrown 17 touchdown passes against just three picks. We are expecting him to have a big game here today. We like the Broncos, even as road favorites, to win this game.
