Miami (OH) vs Boise State Start Time, Odds and Free Pick

Boise State will look to bounce back from its week one loss at Michigan State by holding serve on the blue turf this weekend against the Miami Redhawks (4:00pm ET start time, NBC Sports Network). The latest Miami (OH) vs Boise State Odds like a Broncos recovery as Chris Petersen’s squad listed as a -21 against the spread home favorite; Saturday’s game total is set at 53.5 points.

While Chris Petersen has a tremendous track record at Boise State, it seemed inevitable the program would take a step back this season after losing so many starters from last year’s 12-1 team. The Broncos week one showdown with Michigan State provided proof of such as they fell 17-13 to the now 10th ranked Spartans.

Boise State did manage to cover the seven point spread, though, thanks to four Michigan State turnovers. Still, the stats pointed to an over-matched team with the Broncos producing just 14 first downs, 206 total yards, and a 1.5 yards per carry average. New quarterback Joe Southwick struggled opposite the Spartans dominant defense, completing 15-of-31 passes for 169 yards and one interception in his first career start.

Fortunately for the Broncos, the level of competition goes down this weekend. While Miami, which won the MAC in 2010 with a 7-1 conference record, could contend for another East Division title this season, it is no where near as good as Michigan State.

The Redhawks demonstrated their ability to contend with Big Ten competition in their season opening clash against Ohio State in Columbus. The Buckeyes blasted Miami 56-10 after rolling up 538 total yards and forcing three Redhawk turnovers.

It would appear through two weeks of action that Ohio State is more formidable than Boise State, but Miami still has a tall order today as it seeks to beat a team that is 19-1 in its last 20 home games and 9-1 against the spread in its last 10 games playing as a favorite with a spread between 21 and 24.5 points.

Free Pick: Lean to Boise State -21.

Miami (OH) vs Boise State Odds:

Miami Redhawks +21 (-110), Over 53.5 (-110)

Boise State Broncos -21 (-110), Under 53.5 (-110)
