MLB Friday: Cincinnati Reds vs. San Francisco Giants Start Time and Odds

The San Francisco Giants and Cincinnati Reds will take the field tonight for game two of their four game set at AT&T Park. This evening’s Cincinnati Reds vs. San Francisco Giants showdown has a scheduled start time of 10:15pm ET. MLB Friday Odds have the hosting Giants listed as a -150 moneyline favorite ($150 to win $100) while the Reds are getting +135 odds ($100 to win $135) to end San Francisco’s win streak at four games. The Over/Under in tonight’s contest is set at 6.5 runs; the Over is favored at -115 odds.

San Francisco won its fourth straight shutout game last night, dumping the Reds 5-0 to improve to 44-33 on the season. The victory gave the club sole possession of first place in the NL West as fading Dodgers lost for the ninth time in 10 games with a 3-2 setback to the Mets.

The Giants are now 12-2 in their last 14 games against National League competition thanks to a pitching staff that has produced six shutouts and allowed an average of just 2.1 runs per game during that stretch.

Matt Cain, who pitched a perfect game opposite Houston on June 13th, will look to follow Madison Bumgarner’s one hit effort last night with another gem this evening. Cain had a string of eight straight wins snapped his last time out as San Francisco fell 4-2 at Oakland on Sunday. The big right hander, who is 9-2 with a 2.27 ERA, had little to do with the setback, though, as he yielded just three hits and one earned run over seven innings for his 11th quality start of the season.

Cain is 4-1 with a 1.45 ERA and .150 batting average against in seven starts at AT&T Park this season; the Giants are 6-1 in Cain’s seven home appearances.

Cincinnati, now 41-34 overall, will attempt to end its slide at two games with 24 year old Mike Leake toeing the rubber. The Reds are 0-2 in Leake’s last two starts despite the Arizona State product allowing just 11 hits and three earned runs over 15 innings. The right handed Leake comes into tonight’s start with a 2-5 record and 4.46 ERA; he has 21 walks to 58 strikeouts (82.2 innings pitched) and his opponent batting average currently sits at .276.

MLB Friday Betting Trend: The Reds are 2-8 in their last 10 games as a road dog with a total between 6 and 7 runs.

MLB Friday Cincinnati Reds vs. San Francisco Giants Odds

Cincinnati Reds +1.5 (-170), Over 6.5 (-115), +135 (Moneyline)

San Francisco Giants -1.5 (+150), Under 6.5 (-105), -150 (Moneyline)
