Georgia Bulldogs 2012 BCS National Championship Odds

Georgia removed Head Coach Mark Richt’s rear end from the hot seat last season, finishing with a 10-4 record, but he could find himself right back in that unwanted position should his 2012 team fail to meet some lofty expectations. The latest Georgia Bulldogs 2012 BCS National Championship Odds have Richt’s squad listed at 18 to 1 to win the national title. The Bulldogs are also expected to repeat in the SEC East, drawing +175 odds to retain the division title they won last season. Only Alabama and LSU are favored over Georgia in the race for the SEC Championship with the Dawgs presently listed at +500 (risk $100 to win $500) moneyline odds to conquer college football’s toughest league.

Georgia rose from the ashes last season after disappointing campaigns in 2009 and 2010 (14 wins, 12 losses), but it did not finish the season on a high note. The Bulldogs got drilled 42-10 by LSU in the SEC Championship Game before going on to lose 30-33 in triple overtime to Michigan State in the Outback Bowl.

Despite the undesirable conclusion, many expect Georgia, which returns 15 starters, to, once again, be the class of the SEC East. Working in the Bulldogs favor is a conference slate that is absent of both Alabama and LSU. While Georgia does face potentially difficult road challenges at Missouri, South Carolina, and Auburn, for the most part, its schedule is a favorable one as it plays host to Vanderbilt, Tennessee, and Ole Miss. The Bulldogs non-conference lineup features just one notable opponent, in-state rival Georgia Tech.

Georgia Bulldogs 2012 Schedule: 9/1 Buffalo, 9/8 at Missouri, 9/15 Florida Atlantic, 9/22 Vanderbilt, 9/29 Tennessee, 10/6 at South Carolina, 10/20 at Kentucky, 10/27 Florida (neutral site), 11/3 Ole Miss, 11/10 at Auburn, 11/17 Georgia Southern, 11/24 Georgia Tech

Georgia Bulldogs 2012 BCS National Championship Odds:

Odds to Win the BCS National Championship +1800
Odds to Win the SEC +500 (3 of 14)
Odds to Win the SEC East Division +175 (1 of 7)
