NFL Sunday Picks and Odds for Bills, Jets, Bears and Raiders

Buffalo Bills at New York Jets (odds: -9) 1:00PM: The Bills season is crumbling with three consecutive losses, in no small part due to injuries.  They’ve lost their last three games by a combined score of 106-26.  Teams have figured out their 5 WR sets by loading up in the defensive secondary. Yet the receive core is so hobbled they will have a hard time fielding a quality unit.  The first of those three losses was to the Jets, 27-11 as -2 HF. You can see by this line that there has been quite an adjustment for the Buffalo situation. They’ve been owned by the Jets who have a 4-0 SUATS series record.  The last three of those are by an average score of 34-11. Free NFL Picks: With the Jets having 11 days to prepare after getting Tebowed, look for full focus against a Buffalo team in a world of hurt.

Chicago Bears at Oakland Raiders (odds: -4) 4:05PM: Injuries to Chicago, including loss of QB Cutler (thumb), has forced this line five points since the opener of Chicago -1.  We step in with the value lining up under center with QB Hanie.  But during their 5-0 SUATS streak to get them to 7-3 SU, the Bears have been all about running the football.  In fact, behind the thrusts of RB Forte, the Bears have nearly doubled up the opposition by outrushing them 662-334.  Operating against a Raider defensive front that is allowing 131/5.1 should allow the Bears to have continued success overland. NFL Picks: The continuing improvement of Oakland QB Palmer, who has led the Raiders to consecutive road wins at Minnesota and San Diego, prevents this from being rated higher

Arizona Cardinals at St. Louis Rams (odds: NL) 1:00PM: Whether Arizona starts QB Kolb, Skelton, or Bartel we are still lining up with St. Louis in this one.  Arizona playing their third consecutive road game after being handled by the 49ers last week. They ran the ball only 11 times and gained only 229 yards.  Teams who ran the ball less than 20 times are now 1-12-1 ATS the last two weeks.  The Rams had their own problems last week in losing 24-7 to Seattle.  They again have multiple injuries along their OL.  In the earlier meeting between these two, a 19-13 Arizona win, the Rams actually outgained the Cards 400-262.  Though these two have just five wins between then, the St. Louis season does not appear lost.  Arizona, meanwhile, seems destined for a downer the rest of the season.  They have allowed 142 RYPG in the L6 weeks.
