2012 US Presidential Election Odds are out and oddsmakers have the former Governor of Massachusetts Mitt Romney the current favorite at +150 to win the Republican Party presidential nomination in 2012. When looking at the US Presidential Election Odds, even with high gas prices, high unemployment, high inflation, multiple wars and the nation bleeding money the betting experts are backing Barack Obama to win a second term in 2012 at -300 with the Republicans the underdog at +150. When breaking down the odds below it would seem that Mitt Romney is the safe choice, but +150 does not offer much value with Michele Bachmann a rising star and paying a nice chunk of change +800 ($800 for a $100 wager). If you put aside Bachmann and her 23 foster kids for a moment, Texas Governor Rick Perry is a great underdog at +650 if he decides to enter the race. Granted Mitt Romney would have a better chance in a general election against Obama, but Bachmann and Perry cater to the more "right" of the GOP and could easily win the nomination. It is interesting to note that even though they are favorites of the Tea Party bloc of the party, Bachmann is a former Democrat and Perry actually backed Al Gore in the 1988 Democratic presidential primaries and was chairman for his campaign in Texas.
