The race was broadcast by NBC (post time scheduled for 6:38 PM ET) with Belmont results and Belmont payouts announced soon after once made official. Typically payouts are quoted for every $2 wagered by the bettor. Before the race the payouts are only estimates, while the official results are actually paid out and are only available once the race is complete. Payoffs are rounded to the nearest dime or nickle depending on the track.

To determine the exact win odds when betting horse racing will require figures beyond those provided by the toteboard - that is, total win pool and amount bet on each horse. Before paying out the winners, the track removes it's "hold" - usually 15%-20%. So, exact odds are calculated by subtracting the take from the pool minus amount bet on horse in question divided by the amount bet by the player.
