Analysis:I gotta do this one more time - if you do the work, you SHOULD know how it'll play out.
Working on Saturday, and have been for a couple of days. Lots of great games - but not easy. Time to dig even deeper, because what works for a while doesn't work forever as the market changes - anyhow, here's some thoughts on tonight:
URI/Davidson: URI plays some great defense, but what I hate is they they're shooting 61% in Conference play from the stripe. Although Davidson doesn't defend the three ball worth a sh*t (which is surprising because they see it every day in practice), I think this game stays under. URI has a much deeper bench, so if I had to bet a side, I'd take Davidson 1H and URI 2H.
Yale/Columbia: This is kind of Columbia's GOY. They're not as good, or even close, to what they where last season. Neither is Yale, but Yale beat them twice last season so quite likely a match-up issue. Columbia forces turnovers and Yale hasn't protected the ball great, which would make me like the home team here. However, Yale gets to the line and shoots 77%, so I guess that'd be a wash. GTH (gun to head) I'd take the points since Columbia doesn't turn it over and has a length advantage, so I think they find a way to keep this a tight game.
Rider/Iona: On paper I don't know how Rider keeps this game close. It seems way too easy to take Iona. The upside for Rider is that they've played a TON of road games - they actually beat Monmouth on the road and they've got the "at home" rematch there Monday, so if they're going to cover one of these two, it's probably tonight. Rider IS the #1 three point defense in the conference and that IS the only way Iona scores, so the Gaels may be the public disaster of the night.
