938 TEX / 937 TOR Over 9 Pinnacle
double-dime bet
Analysis:This is a rematch of the very entertaining ALDS last season won by Toronto in 5 games after Texas won the first 2 games. The teams averaged 9 runs per game in that series. The Rangers and Blue Jays played lower scoring games in their 2016 regular season meetings with 4 of the 7 games staying UNDER and 3 going OVER with the teams averaging just 8.1 rpg. But those series were played early in the season when pitching usually has an edge over hitting -- their last meeting was on May 15. Both teams heated up over the balance of the season and, against all types of pitching, averaged an almost identical 4.7 runs per game over the entirety of the 162 game season. Texas' Cole Hamels is still a top tier pitcher but has shown signs of decline this season with below average control as compared to seasons past. Toronto's Marco Estrada had an excellent season but still has to prove his mettle against a tough lineup in a high stress situation. Playing in the mid to late afternoon would tend to favor the offenses and both lineups are deep with plenty of long ball potential. 9 is a fair line for this matchup and neither bullpen can be considered a significant strength.Pick Made: Oct 6 2016 10:01AM PST
